Bigbang Samsung Cover

2012 design competition

Challenge

Bigbang is a Korean Band that I adore. This band consists of 5 boys, G-Dragon, TOP, Tae Yang (SOL), Dae Seung and Seung Ri. Samsung held a design competition, to make Samsung Galaxy S III cover with the theme of Bigbang “still alive”.

Solution

GD and Dae Seung, the members of Bigbang were having personal trouble once, there were several other problems, and Bigbang was almost done. But then, they made a decision together to keep this band to move on. That’s why they launched their newest album “Alive”, and “Still Alive”. To show that they are still together in Bigbang. In this new album, they have new concept, and they do their own rebranding. The typeface redesign with a little change, the new logo, and the new brand colors for each of Bigbang’s member. I use the rebranding colors of each of them to shape the Bigbang initial logo. As they are always be together, then Bigbang is still alive and will always be alive.

Decorior

Challenge

Decorior is an interior design that is just want to be started. Decorior is owned by two young interior designers. Decorior comes from the word “decor” and “interior”, or “deco” and “interior”.

Solution

As Decorior is owned by two young men, and they want a strong concept in the logo. So I make it strong, masculine but still has its flexibelity. To show the strength and serious concept, I make the logotype by myself, and make the initial as the logogram of Decorior. The font based on rectangles, but still has round corners to show the flexibility so it is not too stiff. I use  grey monochromes and dark blue to show the strength, corporate and trusted concept. I also make the logo application on white background and on b/w, and I add the business card design as the first application on stationery design.

Indomie

Challenge

Indofood is a famous company in food and beverages. One of its most famous product is Indomie. Indofood also has other well known products such as Indomilk, Trenz, Lays and others. Indofood requests for the theme of Indofood Calendar 2013 is “Indofood Setia Menemani”.

Solution

Calendar Concept is different Indofood product will be shown in each month. The product will be “alive” just like humans. And the product will help or be together with the people while they do their activities. I design the layout with simple, clean and corporate concept.

Diamond

Challenge

Diamond is a company that provides food and beverages, Diamond well known especially as milk and cheese provider. Besides, they also provides other products such as yoghurt, chocolate,

and others. Diamond would like to have their own 2013 calendar, and they would prefer if all of their products can be shown in the calendar.

Solution

The Calendar concept is a 3D wood shelf that will contain all of Diamond products. The calendar layout will be like small book, extend to the 3D shelf. There will be notes space in Calendar layout, and there will be different Diamond products shown in each month.

Challenge

Komatsu is a brand of tractors and machines come from Japan. Komatsu tractors and machines help so much in building constructions.

Solution

Komatsu Calendar 2013 will use the photos of Indonesia nature places that are beautiful and famous. The layout design will be simple and close to corporate concept.

A&W

Challenge

A&W is a restaurant that is very well known for its fried chicken. A&W is going to serve new taste of fried chicken. The new taste is spicy, the taste will be unique and different from competitors. The spicy taste doesn’t come from chilly but comes from spices and other natural ingredients.

Solution

I make the Poster design that will speak literally to audience and customers. I use the fried chickens as object, and it will look still hot just like they just fried. There will be smoke comes out from the chickens, with vector objects of spices and natural ingredients.

Royal Aljazeerah

Challenge

Royal Aljazeerah is an Arabic Restaurant that is located in Puncak. As an Arabic Restaurant, of cousr it serves Arabic Food as the most recommended. But besides, it also serves Chinese Food, Western Food and Indonesian Food.

Solution

Royal Aljazeerah is owned by an Arabian. Most Arabians like their culture, and Arabic pattern is one of well-known culture from Arab. So for the Menu and Food Box design, I use Arabic pattern. Besides, I also use pattern that suitable for each country (Chinese, Western and Indonesian) for the menu dividers.

Azoffoto

Challenge

Azoffoto is a freelance photography, that owned by a foreigner photographer named Azoff. Azoffoto comes from the name of Azoff and the word foto. Azoff needs brand and visual identity for her photography freelance and she asked for a vintage concept.

Solution

I make the logo of Azoffoto by using AZ as initialn in shape of triangle and rectangle. i also use it to be the shape of cropped image in the stationery and applications design.

Hotti Kultura

Challenge

Hotti Kultura is a cafe and resto that will be located near Jakarta Selatan. The concept of this cafe and resto are retro and vintage. The target market are young, friendly, hot and fashionable people.

Solution

I use a retro girl silhouette to show vintage concept. Using the colors which close to vintage, pop, fun to show the fun and fashionable theme.
